FROM FARM TO ROASTERY

Five Steps. Full Traceability.

Every lot we export follows the same rigorous journey from smallholder farmer to your roastery door. Here is exactly what that looks like.

01

HARVEST

Hand-Picked at Peak Ripeness.

Kenya's coffee quality begins at the picking stage. Smallholder farmers across our four sourcing regions hand-select only ripe red cherries during two annual harvest seasons, the Fly Crop from May to July and the Main Crop from October to January.

This labour-intensive selective picking is one of the primary drivers of Kenya's quality reputation. Machine harvesting or strip picking is not used in our supply chain

02

PROCESSING

The Double-Wash Method.

After picking, cherries are delivered to cooperative washing stations within hours. Kenya uses a double-fermentation wet processing method: cherries are pulped, fermented for 12 to 24 hours, washed, fermented again, and washed a second time.

This rigorous process removes all fruit residue and produces the clean, bright acidity and clarity that defines Kenyan coffee in the cup.

03

DRYING AND MILLING

Raised Tables. Controlled Drying.

Washed beans are dried on raised drying tables for 8 to 14 days under direct sunlight. Raised table drying allows air circulation beneath the beans, producing even moisture reduction and preventing defects that ground drying causes.

Once moisture reaches the optimal level, the parchment is milled, sorted by screen size, and density-separated. This is where Kenya AA, AB, and Peaberry grades are formally assigned.

04

GRADING AND AUCTION

The Nairobi Coffee Exchange.

Every lot we export is submitted to the Nairobi Coffee Exchange, Kenya's regulated coffee auction licensed by the Capital Markets Authority. Independent brokers classify each lot and present them at scheduled weekly auctions.

The NCE provides independent quality classification and a transparent chain of custody. We operate directly within this system, not around it.

05

EXPORT AND SHIPPING

Full Documentation on Every Shipment.

Approved green coffee is packed in standard 60kg jute bags, with GrainPro moisture-barrier lining available on request. Every shipment leaves Mombasa Port with a complete documentation package including phytosanitary certificate, ICO certificate, certificate of origin, NCE quality analysis report, packing list, and bill of lading.

Pricing is available on FOB Mombasa or CIF terms. We are actively implementing EU Deforestation Regulation compliance processes for buyers requiring EUDR documentation.
